66 days in hospital in total so far, 9 rounds and 30 days of chemo complete. A whole month hooked up to some pretty nasty stuff but I’m so incredibly grateful to have been. See you for surgery Notts x
(and a bit more chemo and maybe some radio, but one thing at a time).
After some slightly serious queries about treatment and side effects the real question I was dying to ask my consultant was “can I have a Prosecco?” to which he said “oh god yes, I think you can have at least 2”. As you can tell from the video I’m out of practice, plus my hands don’t really work anymore, but that is a skill I will be reinstating asap. He also did a little happy dance for me, as I’ve now seen off the last dose of one of the nastiest drugs. There’s still lots of questions and I find myself writing more each day but the answers will come with our next meeting and if I’m honest I’m grateful for this time without all that info in my head.
I can’t really explain the feeling of achieving this milestone, yet still feeling pretty far from the end, I’ll get there I’m sure, might take everyone’s advice and write a book.
As always I’m blown away by the amazing people I have around me, I had videos from lots of them to watch as part of my celebrations (lots of laughs, LOTS of tears). I can’t wait to celebrate properly when I’ve finished seeing off cancer.
For now, chemo part 1 (tick).
